Important Info
Quick Links
These
are brand new photos of the Bad Karma Field. They show pretty much every thing
we have to offer from a killer vantage point. Thanks to Trever and Ed for getting
them. We will be linking other, more detailed area photos to these in the coming
months, so if you mouse over an area and the prompt comes up, click it to see
that area in greater detail. Currently, only the Old Compound has a close up
page.
To
download the photo below in all it's glory (trust me the one below doesn't do
the original justice in size or detail), right click HERE and select "Save target as". It is a BIG picture. The download link
does NOT have the captions on it.

As
you can see, it's a pretty big field, with plenty of space to grow. The Switzerland
area will become a full-fledged "city street" area, complete with
large scale buildings on both sides. We have a few there now and our first 16'x16'
building already in place.
We will be adding more rocket batteries and computer
terminals to that area this year as well. Out at the "The Hole" and
"No Man's Land" we will be adding watch towers so that both sides
can help protect and support their troops. At some point in the future we will
be adding one more full sized compound up just above the downed helo.
Yeah,
that's a helicopter. One built by the Crutchfields for us and it's pretty accurate
in size and scale. It is there until we ever get a real one to replace it and
we are working on just that. If we do, the one there now will be placed somewhere
else on the field. Lots of "recovery" type missions go on here.
Better
view of the "Switzerland" area. The city street will extend down from
where the 16x16 building is not towards the radar dish, but there will be two
sides to the "street"
The
New Compund in all it's glory. If it is properly defended, it is very hard to
get into...although it CAN be done. There is a perimeter wall that extends all
the way around and can be used by either defenders or attackers.
The
Original Compound. The Main Compound is big. Big enough to house two completely
seperate interior areas and a large rear hallway. Covered by a roof and second
story defences over much of it provides a 360 degree arc of defenses. A perimter
fence all the way around is secured by three guard houses and a sniper tower.
The hidden entrance in the back leads to a seperate missile storage area.
Close combat fights in this area are ruthless,
especially when filled with about 40 defenders and attackers at once.
There
you go. Those are the main areas of play as of April 2007. Every year we upgrade,
repair and expand at least one or two of them. Field veterans that have been
playing at least a year are expected to contribute at least $25 a year to
the field beginning their second year of play so that we can keep the field
going. Veterans who have paid their annual field fee are able to reserve the
field for their own private or public playdates. The cost is free as long
as the event is free, otherwise the field gets $5 per player for "charged"
games. If you are interested in using the field, check the forums for details.
